DARE 2020

It’s so easy to cut out that what hurt, past and present, you. Offends you. Ignores you. Betrays you.

It’s as simple as a huff, slammed door, not replying, cold shouldering, distancing and eventual cut off.

Who needs a real friend to challenge you on your thoughts and actions when you can find someone on social media who agrees with you and praises you for taking a stand on your “own individual thinking”?

That’s the hitch. They aren’t helping you. They are cutting you worse than the person you got offended by. The one who hurt you with their glance. The one who shut you out forever.

All they are doing is taking a shovel and digging with you, deeper into the pit of selfishness. And they call that “friendship”.

People no longer want to be challenged. They want to live their life their way. Don’t you dare tell them what you think you privileged person. You don’t know what they’ve been through.

Yes, that may be true. BUT I want to challenge that thinking.

Sure, somebody hurts you. It’s called having a relationship. Only the fake ones are perfect or ever appear to be. Does their offense give you the right to become offended? Does their wrong make it right for you to return a wrong?

Never.

As children of our Savior, we are called to turn our face and yet again let them trample on us. And we are to do it with GRACE.

That means holding your tongue. Taking 10 seconds to talk to yourself NOT listen to yourself. To let them offend you 7x70.

My challenge for myself, and you, in this upcoming year is to be as Christ would. No, I will not do so perfectly but I am redeemed.

I want to be a true radical. I’m tired of this gloomy world. In Jesus I find my worth without Him I am nothing. As long as he keeps my heart beating I want to live fearless for Him.

This will change my relationships as I will be encouraging and challenging as I feel God calls me to. I’m tired of living subpar and feeling as if I can’t use my voice to share in order not to disturb people’s tides of their soul. I will not do this recklessly but with faith and His power.
